STAR WARS REBELS: Season 3 THE RUINING OF MAUL

Maul has been, overall, treated so badly in Star Wars Rebels. Just after killing the Inquisitors and dueling Ahsoka, he shamely lost against a blind Kanan props to the Jedi who was at the Inquisitors level. Not only this shows Maul´s character hasn´t evolved and progressed from his mistakes, but it´s also his downfall in a pathetic way. Simbolically, Ahsoka surpassed him to face Vader in the top of the temple, while Maul (a prequel character, who made such impact...) can´t surpass the lower level and defeat Kanan.


Not only did we lose the opportunity to see Maul vs Vader, but S3 wasn´t better for him... He could have this angle with Ezra as his apprentice, trying to draw him away from Kanan, but that lasted just two episodes. Or, at least, we could have had a feud built against Kanan, trying to end what started in Malachor. Perhaps, we could have seen Old Ben and Kanan meet, to take on Maul together, maybe with a young Ezra corrupted by his side. Maul would lose and die in the end, but he would die as a REAL THREAT, and could have properly finished Ezra, Kenobi and Kanan´s arc, while causing an interesting meeting between the two Jedi, and Ezra would come back to the light and find a re-strenghted link with Kanan.



Instead of the calculator, skilled assasin they give us a deranged guy who doesn´t make sense in his decissions...who gets lost for 20 years on Malachor, then goes desesperately after Ezra to be his friend (after blinding his own master), and then again he gets lost again on Tatooine just to get killed in 3 seconds by Kenobi. NO, NO and NO!
